Yikes!

I just noticed that Skype doubled its connection fee to the countries that already cost a lot more to call.

$0.12 (CAD) is a pretty expensive connect fee and at 6ยข more that's quite a jump!

One question: It says it's for countries out side of global calling countries. Does that mean that cell phones within the global countries but outside the global calling rate fall under this new connection fee?

I'm surprised at this price jump. Especially considering I usually only make 2-3 minute calls to these countries (mostly Serbia), this makes using skype-out for those countries less attractive. I'll probably be getting a calling card and calling Serbia through dialling a Canadian skype-out number and then using a calling card for what now are better rates.

Please, also remember that Subscriptions are NOT rounded to the next minute, so even if the rates appear cheaper, in some of the above countries, with a Skype world Subscription for example, currently at $12.95 U.S. per month, without minute rounding, is not a bad deal:
