I have been using skype since the first beta for linux was out. It has never been as good as the windows version, but still the best voip at that time.

Waiting for next release, I have read this forum for over a month now hoping for some information on next release. Sadly... most posts are complaints, but with no information about upcoming release thats what you get.

What I would like to see is some kind of report on the status of the beta.
Perhaps not release date... But functionality, what can be expected? a screenshot? progress of testing?
Give us something!

If a single betatester could post something useful about what they are testing it would make a difference, at least for me.

We're all waiting, some are waiting patiently, some are waiting with a sense of being annoyed, thats all you can really do, it seems the devels dont post too much, so theres not really much you can do, except wait.

Some have expressed the idea that Skype for Linux is (only) being developed with embedded Linux in mind. If so, we Linux betatesters will always be (only) SkypeLinux Beta Hangarounds.

Since the last feature update (not only bugfixes) for skype for linux it has been 6 month.

Now that it is not possible to become a beta-tester anymore I would like to know if there is any betatesters at all? Can someone post a confirm that they have tested anything newer then what is released.

Good point! Are there any beta testers testing anything like alsa skype for linux?

What is so damn difficult about having a roadmap? If they would just tell us that Skype with Alsa&video isn't going to happen, I could just pay someone else to provide me with services, if they are not interested in us as a customer base. This is no way to conduct a business.

Could it be that the beta crached and ruined their computers so they can't post at this forum?

Maybe they aren't allowed to post into this forum, that they are Beta-testers and what they test, or they will be banned form the test and get prosecuted....
