HI - I've just installed the latest v of Skype. Problem I have is that it freezes when I use the video cam option. Then when I shut it down a skype.exe process remains running and I cannot reopen Skype appln because it tells me a version is already running and to log out. The only way to kill the process is to restart, Help please.

Hello,

I am having the exact same problem, and I made sure that my Webcam Driver is up to date. I am running a Sony Vaio 2.0 Dual Core, 3GB RAM. My skype used to work perfectly before I formatted my computer. I made sure that all my drivers are up to date. Everything works fine, except when I try to start my video, skype freezes. My webcam works just fine if I use it in Webcam Companion, I can take pictures, record video, and everything. I noticed that not only Skype crushes when I use this webcam, but also other video chat programs. Please help me since I am out of ideas. I am using the latest version of Skype, and so its the person I am trying to video chat with. Thank you!!

I am also having freezing problems. I can connect with audio and video without problems but after a while the computer freezes and I can do nothing except use the power off button. It can take anything from about 3 minutes to 15 minutes before it freezes.

I have checked Windows Vista updates, driver updates, re downloaded and installed Skype, all to no avail.

Any help appreciated,

Richard
