I have been using Windows for many years, and I made the transition to Ubuntu Linux a few months ago. Before I got Ubuntu, I used Open Solaris and I would like to point out that there really needs to be a version of Skype for Solaris, but back on topic. For some reason, When I highlight text and press Ctrl C in Skype and try to paste it into other applications it doesn't work. And when I even highlight the text and right click and select copy, it only rarely works. It'd be greatly appreciated if this could be fixed.

Hi, it is not a skype issue, because on my instance of skype everything is working fine.
It's probably a ubuntu/skype compatibility issue.

Look for a solution on related forums. I am using debian-lenny with kde - no issues.

I am wondering there is no answer from Skype Support.

The problem occurs in Gnome. Because Skype is written in QT and the deb is not configured correctly. Quite annoying.

It is working for you because you use KDE.

I think you'll need to ask via support.skype.com for that (or to dev Berkus on linux blog comments) - the only support posts I've seen in last six weeks have been somehow related to windoze versions. It's been obvious for a long while that skype management's care factor ~= 0.
I'd say their suggestion to look through the JIRA bugtracker seems a complete waste of time as there's so much archaic dross. I can only assume recent stuff is just as closed as their source, or they've likewise given up on it.
But hey, there's good open alternatives now. It's simply a matter of getting people to open their eyes and ask whether it isn't time to grab a red pill too and take in life outside skype-net's walled garden. Because we sure as hell need the competition.
