Does anybody else have this problem - when I open my skype account from a remote computer (ie: internet cafe or friends comp) I cannot click on call history and see outgoing, incoming or forwarded calls? I can only see this from the computer on which i first opened my skype account, which in this case is my own personal laptop.
Likewise, you cannot even click on recent chats under the tools option from a remote computer, it just wont allow for it????
This is so frustrating because sometimes for work when i travel I dont take my personal comp and need to access my call lists and recent chats from a remote computer.
Can someone explain to me why this is and if they have been able to fix it how?
Please advise,
Mirella

This actually makes perfect sense. Other than your contact list, I believe all other history information is stored locally, not remotely. You don't have access to that information because the Skype network simply does not have it.

But there are times when it is urgently needed like whe you need to know when you called that person, time and date, and likewise when they called you...and it is not coming up???
But most importantly when i am away from my comp i seriously need to sometimes access recent chats to cut and past work related info and I cannot do it because I cant even get into it, it wont allow for it.
Is there anyway Skype can make this fixed to allow for it, because I am sure I am not the only one this is happening to.

I already requested this once to skype! i.e., centraized history, simillar to centralized contacts. But i guess it will occupy lot of space in skype server!

I seen that alot of times in skype and your right.
So what I do is use the windows remote desktop to login to my computer remotely and use skype from the remote computer.
So far so good
As for sound go's there will be a 2 second delay to and from the remote computer but it's not to bad over highspeed internet or network.

Remote Desktop?
What is this and how do you access this feature? Where do I even look for the program or icon on my screen or on my computer?
Please advise

You'll need XP Pro. Home does not have remote desktop.
If you have XP pro then it will need to be switched on first.
Start, Control Panel, Performance, System, Click on remote tab. Enable remote desktop.
Determine your IP address and make a note of it. (Start , Run, CMD, ipconfig).
Make sure your computer requires a password on startup otherwise remote desktop will not function.
On the remote computer one can access your home computer with Win XP by clicking Start, All Programs, Accessories, Communications, Remote desktop.
Enter your IP address to connect to your home computer, you'll be prompted for your password.
If your IP address starts with 192.168 then report back. In this case there is extra work to be done in your router to make it work.
