I keep missing freinds online when I'm away from my desk, the problem is that I don't find out about it until next time there online. It might not sound like much but if I know one of my freinds overseas has been online then I know there awake and arn't going to mind me phoning there landline number.

I'd like to be able to log the times my freinds go online and offline.
I've seen a program that takes a screen grab of the bottom right section of the screen at a predettermined interval, but it sounds like a pain in the A** to have to sit and sift through thousands of images.

Does anyone know of an application that will log online status to a text file or a database. A bit creepy sounding I know, but I'd find it usful.

I don't know of an existing application that does this, but the Skype API could easily support this. A program could be written to simply watch for status changes like this and log them to a file or anything you like, really. Would be a trivial exercise for someone who had experience with the Skype API.

Not the perfect solution but you could look at the Khoas Labs Skype control.

This comes with a demo application that logs user status changes which you can then view. Unfortunately it logs everything but if you're no familiar with developing with Skype API's this could be an alternative (free) solution.

Looks like too much of an industrial application for what I need. I tried a copy of the files, some didn't seem to work, others crashed.

There must be someone out there who has written something to do this. I know that there is someone currently thinking of writing such an app.
