I am a heavy user of Skype. Just upgraded to Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04.

There is no version of Skype for this release, which is more than 5 months since release. New version of Ubuntu comes out in 17 days!

All forum posts are about prior versions of Ubuntu and don't work.

Surely I can't be the first person to try Skype on Ubuntu. The best network phone program and the best desktop linux don't talk? You're kidding me.

Anybody help? Moderators: any chance of a permanent page dedicated to making it work? That is updated with recent info. Thanks,
