Hi to all, i' ve problem to use my usb phone.
In audio preference i've only "pulse audio server local".
i use ubuntu karmik 9.10 and skype 2.1.0.47.

Just following up Deloptes' (who uses ALSA) advice on configuring PA: you want to ensure pavucontrol is installed, and you may need to execute it from a Terminal. Then you can set the USB phone as the Recording device when you do a test call - see Techno21's nice images down on page 5 of 2.1 PA thread under "Important topics" or this thread.
Mayb need to check things aren't muted in alsamixer too..

ok ok, i've solved, pavucontrol must be run during a skype conversation.
Pulseaudio is great.
