Skype Community > Cannot stay "Signed IN" to Skype when iPhone is locked.

When I am signed into Skype on my iPhone and I have both "Sign In Automatically" and "Stay Online" when device is locked..on
why is it that when I push the top button to lock the iPhone I am logged off of Skype?????
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Skype, turning off the iPhone when doing so etc.
Any suggestions on how to remain logged onto Skype when you lock the iPhone?

Ok I figured it out.
When I am away from home and not on a wifi signal but on the 3G network I stay logged into Skype.
It's only when I am at home on my wifi that I get logged out of Skype when I lock the cell.

Surely you should remain logged in despite being on WiFi or 3G network when the phone goes into "Locked" mode.

I have set the "Stay Online" setting to "On" when the device is locked. This should do so regardless of whether 3G or not. I think this is a legitimate bug...

Hello!

I am experiencing the same problem with Skype on my iPhone. Was this issue resolved? I have set the "Stay Online" setting to "On" when the device is locked but as soon as my iPhone gets locked (whether or not I am in a Wifi or 3G) it automatically signs me out!

I am having the same issue and have let skype know. The way around it, I have found, is to play my music. Then when I get a call, skype will kick in and mute the music.

i have sam problem can't keep online .
my step use
1.seting
sign is auto (ON)
stay online (ON)
2. Use on Wifi

I close program ,after that program go to status off line
How to seting for stanby online ??

Not possible. The OS doesn't allow us to run Skype in the background, the app needs to be on. That said, there is a bug as noted above.

will there be a notification sent when this bug is fixed?
