I just upgraded to the latest version of Skype, running on Snow Leopard. When I try to start, I get a message "Can't sign in: unable to mount database"
Everything was working fine until the upgrade.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I get the same error now, since upgrading to 2.8.0.722. Unable to mount database. Skype is now totally unusable. Awesome!

Same here, MBP from 2006. Either it can't update the database, or it claims that the password is wrong. Everything worked before Leopard. I am using the latest version of Skype 2.8.

Problem solved.
I used Appzapper to completely wipe skype off my MBP. Then reinstalled Skype and was able to login.
