I have a Verizon Treo 700w and cannot get it to work and was wondering if you have any tips.

Here is what happened to me.

I installed the cab file and had to reboot the phone(It went crazy) but skype seems to connect but I cannot hear anything.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

Hi,

Two suggestions:

1. Open your data connection first by launching the Internet Explorer

2. Try with the earbuds, since Skype seems to pick the audio device without any rule...

Cheers,

Overall, I think Skype for Pocket PC works pretty well with the Treo 700w bigsmile.png

There is a bit of a bandwidth problem (latency and digital distortion) if you are using a 1x connection, but it is fine with either an EVDO or WiFi connection (Palm makes an 802.11 WiFi card for the SDIO slot). It certainly seems to help if at least one of the parties is calling from a computer with a high-speed internet connection.

Oddly enough, the version for fast processors seems to work better on the Treo's 312 mhz processor than the slow cpu version.

Which version of skype are you running on your 700w? I installed the skype beta for 321mhz devices and it slowed the treo down to a crawl. Plus there was issues with keyboard locking and unlocking.

I tried both versions, but settled on 2.0.0.39. due to the superior audio quality. I do not try and run other applications with Skype. The Treo 700w is rather poor at multitasking and only has 32MB of RAM for you to run programs upon.

I'd have to disagree that is runs ok on the 700, it is dog slow, takes about 2 mins to dial someone.

version 41 works great and no delays on 700w. There is a problem with Active Sync in Windows Mobile. Make sure your device is not connected to your PC and active sync is not running.
