can we make skype calls over gprs or edge?? people say a skype call needs only 5-6 kbps ,then theoretically it should be possible to make calls from mobile !! but can we do it practically?
also can we make video calls on a 128 kbps connection on laptop?

From a non windows mobile phone.. No.. The Skype lite client doesnt support calling over data networks... You may be able to make a skype call from a laptop using your mobile like a modem however.

would seem unlikely and if you succeeded you would probably only get 1 - 2 Frames a second.

I dont use Fring so I cant comment.

Video uses a fair wack of data to send. Some home pc connections are not fast enough! then you also have the processing requirements to encode or decode the video. Simply put most mobile devices would stuggle to use the same video codec that Skype for Windows uses, I Think.
