Using Skype Out to make calls has always displayed as an International CLI at the recipients end, that is until I upgraded to version 2 Beta where all calls made via Skype Out display as a WITHELD number, ensuring the call will not be answered by the recipient.

I uninstalled Skype 2 Beta and returned to the current version and again calls show as International, I then reinstalled Skype 2 and hey presto all my outward bound calls via Skype show as WITHELD. I have now uninstalled again.

My question is when the final version of Skype 2 is released is it going to continue displaying as a witheld number or is this just happening while in Beta?

I hope its the latter, as I will not be able to call many of the people I currently call who will not pick up calls from numbers where it appears the caller is trying to hide their number. I should point out that this is with UK to UK numbers.

Well you must be one of the lucky ones because a lot of the time the CLI states WITHELD number or a number like 1234567890 to the best of my knowledge Skypeout never has and never will show a true CLI number because it does not know where you are calling form.

Of course it does not show a true CLI, I would not expect it to.

But it has always shown as International, which is what International calls show as via my Telecom service provider and I believe via BT also (funny how we cant see the international number displayed here in the UK only the word International, when other countries ARE able to show the CLI of international numbers)

However WITHELD is a different kettle of fish and suggests that the caller does not wish to display his number and in many cases people do not answer calls that display as such.

My problem is with the word WITHELD which is a negative compared to International.
