devil.png I have not even used Skype at this point, but began receiving emails that my order had been processed etc. When I signed into my account I saw "Welcome Angelina Alison" on the screen and proceeded to see that this woman had made over 106 calls to places around the world with my account info. I am not, obviously, Angelina....my name is Tim and my Skype name is mine as well...how does this happen and how can I STOP it?
I have looked for an actual phone number to call to report this fraud/hijacking and cannot find out who to call.
This is absolute nonsense that a company can exist like this, have so many people with problems and have no immediate way to resolve them.
Should I just cancel my account and put an end to this woman using my info?
How do I insure that she doesn't have access to my personal financial info as well? PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO>

Hi Tim
Exactly the same thing, but exactly the same has happened to me. I have just spent the last hour trying to see who I am supposed to contact or a little guidance would be nice! And how do they do it?
I haven't ever used it either, I changed my login info and will be checking the forums for SOMETHING.How can they log in for starters?
If someone out there can offer advice, I would be most grateful.

Regards,

Michelle5

This is just ONE of the many emails I have received regarding my earlier post. I'm not using the Euro...yet on my account page my credit amount is listed in Euros... Notice as well that the number seems to be a foreign one (I really don't know)If there IS someone from Skype who can help me, and the others who might be dealing with this problem...please please do. I copied this email from my in box and am pasting it below.
Thanks

Hi Tim,
Same exact hijacking happened to me: apparently credit has been added to my Skype account by a person whose name is unfamiliar to me. (I've only used *FREE* Skype to date, never used a credit card). I also received an e-mail confirming the credit addition. In addition, auto-recharge was turned on. I got the same e-mail confirmation you did -- you're not alone.

The unfamiliar name shows up in my Skype account, and many, many calls appear -- some free, some a small charge -- when I list them from my account page. The calls are international, the majority are to African countries (and I know no one from Africa). This just happened today, and all calls occured within a 3 hour period, then abruptly stopped.

I immediately changed my password, de-activated the "auto-recharge", and I'm hoping for the best. I contacted Skype via their "Contact Us" page, and I also sent a "PM" message to a Skype Forum Moderator... I understand that the Moderators have better access to the staff at Skype.

This is scary... I wonder whose credit card was used to add funds to my account???

I highly recommend that Skype **disable** the auto-recharge feature (or at least allow users to permanently disable it) until this is all sorted out.
