Full Version: Skype WiFi phone with web browser

Hi all,
I really like the idea of skype wifi phones. My only problem is that non of the available devices has a web browser, which is sad not only because it would be nice to check e-mails, read news, check maps, weather, etc. but also because many hotspots require web login, and many free ones require you to accept conditions before using. So I decided to solve the problem by purchasing a non skype dedicated PDA, but so far haven't yet found the perfect device.
One candidate is the 3rd generation iPod touch. Has great touchscreen, looks like a phone... and the annoying thing is right that every technical detail is given, but apple just doesn't want its users to be happy, so doesn't allow skype to run in the background and didn't include a built-in microphone. So it's fine if I only want to make calls, I'll just start skype and put on the headset, but if I also want to be reachable, it means I can't use anything else and have to carry the headset all the time :S
My other candidate is the HP ipaq 111, which has none of the above mentioned disadvantages, but a little bigger, has less memory and less nice interface. Not to mention that I have to use a stylus for it :S
Does anyone have any other recommendation?
Thanks
Trent
Uhmm where to move this too..

I am moving this to the Windows Mobile Forum as some of the people in this forum may be able to help you however you may wish to consider asking in the iPhone forum if anyone has any suggestions on the part you are asking about the iPod Touch.

Thanks
