Hi,
I have an external I-sight I use for my PPC G5 I-Mac(the one that came out right before the built in i-sight I-mac).
Anyways my girlfriend(who lives in paris, me- nyc) always asks me to 'refresh' my camera, because she tells me that in one minute she sees me, and in the next the picture is gone.
She has a macbook that she bought like last year or something, and she uses her built in i-sight.
Anyways I thought that maybe I should just buy a new I-sight, except when I tested my I-sight in a I-movie application by making a small video with it, it was fine, with the picture never messing up or anything.
So I was just wondering what the problem might be, any guesses?

Maybe displaying tech infos (Preferences / Advanced) could be useful to know what occurs during calls.

I myself am using an external iSight with an old iMac G5 PPC and what you describe happens to me when the quality of the connection becomes a little bit worse.
Hanging up and calling again is frequently enough to solve the issue.
For a moment at least...
