And why would an automatical skype caller be "cool" ?
IMHO such a thing can only be used for hammering skype users with stupid voice ads !!!

you could easily write a plugin to call people via skype.

But, as best I know, this may only be done one call at a time and therefore not a very scalable outbound scenario.

You are right. Voice ads will use this tool but I think skype also can provide a new feature to let user set who's automatical call/chat will be acceptable.
Automatical skype call conbining with todo list will be next big step in Skype application and will improve our living style. We will not worry about we often forget to do sth again, this automaticall Skype caller will reminder us what need to be done at set time such as when we need to start cooking or leave for a party.
Skype as a voip application should not only work as a replacement of traditional phone but it can also create many new application to let we have a more organized life style. Every thing we need to do will be reminded at the time it shold be done. So Cool. I think.

How about an SMS/Email to your mobile device? Do you really need a phone call?

SMS is good if it can be sent out automatically as a todo list with preindicated content.

PDA or smartphone can remind a group of persons as todo list automatically?
What I want is not only a reminder for self but a whole set of applications based on automatically Skype caller. For one person, a group of persons in a school or a company... All automatically SMS/voice call sent out as todo list or preset content.

Asterisk already is capable of all of this. Why try and fit a square peg through a round hole?

Asterisk has similar feature, Why not Skype. Automatical caller is useful and Skype as biggest Voip application should include this.

Because Skype is not a softswitch, it is an endpoint. You may want to look into Skype Voice Services with the likes of Tellme if you want to do something more sophisticated. But, Asterisk is doable as well.

Have you actually studied the API documentation? There's a lot of capability in it. Of course you'll have to get someone that knows how to write code. For what it's worth, I use a simple one-line Applescript to initiate calls as follows:
tell application "Skype"
send command "CALL skypeUserX" script name "MakeCall"
end tell
I can clip a Skype name from any context and just run the script to initiate calling. I would need to do a lot more, of course, to run a fully automated call list (error checking, voicemail delivery, call termination, etc.) , but I don't see why it's not possible. Ditto for Windows.

You suggestion is very good and helpful. Thanks!
Now there are many online web services such as Todo list , Team Planning, Organization, Coordination, & Project Management including Voo2do, ta-da lists, AirSet and Basecamp... I hope these applications can use Skype API as a channel to user's landline, mobile phone and handheld device and PC and automatically call into these devices. This will be a big step to organize our everyday life ie. everything can be set as plan and schedule in advance. We don't need to worry about forgetting anything...
Perhaps this will be a new application for 2006. ie automatical, initiative informations which be set in advance call from Skype to anyone at anywhere. These info can be a phone call, IM or SMS.
