Full Version: A Question About Linux from a Windows User

Hi guys and gals on the Linux forum.

I have a question about the interactivity of the LINUX version of Skype with Windows versions.

My situation is that I use Windows and one of my contacts uses LINUX. I have subscribed to voicemail and I can send it to all my other contacts who to the best of my knowledge use windows also. However, my Linux contact using version: 1.2.0.18-API -- can not recieve voicemails from me. He has been able to in the past. AND the other thing is that he has NEVER been able to leave me voicemail (when calling and I do not answer). In this situation there is an error when the contact is recieving the greeting and it bombs out.

Admitedly the voicemail network has been a bit on the blink (as always) and we had put it down to that. But the network appears to be working well now and I have not had problems sending. Except for this one contact. Having gone through other possabilities this is the only one left that I can think of.

The other thing that may be a factor is the fact that I have reciently updated to the 2.0 Beta for windows.

So could the fact that my contact is using the Linux version of Skype be why he can not recieve my voicemails?

I really appreciate any insight anyone might have. And my contact tells me that the open source community is very helpful  so thanks. Or maybe other Linux could tell me their experience with voicemail - even if they don't know the answer?

Regards Dave

Most likely it is caused by Skype 2.0, try to file this as a bug.
