I have 3 problems with skype on my debian testing (enlightenment, Alsa with oss wrapper) :

First one : when I call someone, works fine, when I want to call another personn : problem with sound card. I have to quit the application and relaunch it : means only one call by software session

Second one : when I quit skype, it doesn't really quit i have to do a : killall -9 skype for really quit it : if not I can't relaunch it and still in the processus tree.

Third one : I can't listen music and using skype in the same time : what is the aim for a phone software if you have to do nothing when you're not expecting a phone call and someone call you : too bad you're are listenning music ... it's useless

Please give me some advices for resolve these problems. Thanks a lot.

1) Latest Skype forgets to close mic after call, so it can't be accessed again until Skype is restarted. Use skype_dsp_hijacker or an older version of Skype to correct that.
2) ??
3) As Skype blocks the soundcard, you have to use ARTS or ESD. To use Skype via ARTS, run Skype with command "artsdsp -m -v skype" (or "artsdsp -m -v skype_dsp_hijacker" for skype_dsp_hijacker).

It has to tongueout.png.
You can also use dmix, so you don't need a sound server at all (Google -> dmix).

In my opinion this is Skype bug. Use File -> Close from the menu.

Dmix can be used only with aoss (userspace alsa oss emulation). When using kernel oss emulation this will not work.
