Does anyone know how to solve the sound problem with skype in FC4?

The sound-card-Test was positiv, I could hear the sound.
But I cannot hear the ringing in skype, Skype tells me I have got a problem with sound.

kmix has turned on everything.

Yes, an application is blocking the sound device. If no GUI from an application which may block the sound device is open, something is probably running in the background without being killed. If you use gnome type: gnome-system-monitor in a console and kill other applications which may be blocking the sound device. In KDE press ctrl + esc (if i remember correctly).

In gnome I have solved most of my sound problems by not starting the sound server. If the things I mentioned didn't help, type gnome-sound-properties as normal user, and take away "enable sound server at startup". Then log out and log in.
