Hoi all,

First I´d like to say I´m appreciating Skype´s efforts in supporting Linux.
I´ve been using Skype on Linux since the first release and so far it has been useful.

As many other Linux users, I´m involved in the planning and selection of software for an organisation (in this case an international organisation). It is important to know what plans Skype has for the future.

The questions I have are:

1/ will Skype provide a mature version for Linux and Mac OS X?
Mature here means support for Alsa, up-to-date packages for populair distro´s (e.g. Ubuntu) etc

2/ will Skype keep the Linux and Mac OS X versions close (enough) to the Windows versions? I´m glad to see video support in Skype for Windows... but will this ever be available for Skype for Linux and Mac OS X?

Thank you for your time and hope to hear from Skype staff.

kind regards,
Jan

I was about to ask exactly the same thing. I'm really keen to see alsa support and video calling.

I hear they're working on ALSA, but I bet it'll take ages to get to Version 2.
