I have just bought a Dualphone 3088 and I cannot get it to detect the router (light on base station flashes, which in book means cable not connected). The phone display says 'No IP address detected'. My PC works (!). The on-line help for the phone has as an additional option option:-
"Your IP configuration is "Dynamic" but the dualphone did not receive an IP address from any DHCP server or router.
Check that you router has DHCP enabled and that you Internet Service Provider allows more than one unit to access internet (with some providers you need to subscribe to extra IP adresses"

The Belkin wireless and cable router I have hooked to the Virgin WebStar box is DHCP enabled. I have tried plugging the ethernet cable directly into the WebStar, abd get the same indications. The cable is fine (swapped aound with other cables).
I do not know how to check the WebStar. Ideas? And does Virgin (in UK) support extra IP (not that I knew this was necessary, but then I am ignorant). Their web site does not seem to say. Or is there another reason why I am spending so much time going no-where?
Hope someone can help
