Full Version: Odd sound problem with HP2133 / Ubuntu 9.04

I have skype on two laptops running Ubuntu 9.04. On one it runs fine, however on the HP2133 mini notebook I have a problem that I am unable to solve.

Skype sets up without any problems and the test call correctly records and plays back my voice. However when I make a live call the initial connection is fine, but after a period of time - 30 secs to a few mins - the processor jumps to 100% load (shown on the System Monitor) and the speech breaks up and becomes unintelligible.

Does anyone have any suggestions about this problem?

Thanks
