Since a week now every time i am trying to connect to my skype account i get Unknown error occured. Please try again later.
What is going on ?
I tried requested a new password without any success
I am not the only one having this pb

I have the same problem with my skype account. I have one skype account and somebody stolen my password, and I dont know how....but the biggest problem is that, that I cant generate a new password, why??? I try it 10times,
Skype does not allow to generate a new password... Can you help me???

probably your account was hijacked, so you cannot change password or access your accounts, which is not unusual for skype to get easily hijacked

our account has not been hijacked beacause the email has not been changed.
Most of the people try to change the password and are receiving the skype email with the token but when they try to change the password they get unknown error .

Please note that yesterday evening my skype account signed out from alone, with the information that skype password has been changed.
I never changed that password, when I tried to reset the password through the password token, at skype I was informed that an unknown error has occurred and I can not reset my password.
I have now no access to my skype account with all my contacts and I am in urgent need of your help and support.
My skype account name is : ursula.mergui, my email is iugrem@gmx.net

I met the same problem with my another skype account about 5 days ago. I don't know the exact time, as I keep my computer open when I slept.
The next day I couldn't log in, said my account or password wasn't recognized, and when I use my email to reset the password, got "Unknown error occured. Please try again later." too.
I wonder what happened to my account? Was it hijacked or what? I bought an "unlimited world" and still 10 EUR credit with this account, please help!

Skype support is not there and this system of communicating through a "Community blog" and try catch the attention of a "moderator" who may or may not send you a "PM" (private message) is weird. Skype is a commercial company who accepts money from its subscribers. When there is a security problem (and we all know they are many of those), the help and support is unreachableand communications disappear. You have to rely on the goodwill of a volunteer to contact the company, for Skype cannot be bothered to support its customers directly. Again, this is weird and I do not know of any Internet company behaving in this strange way.
My account was hijacked as well and unknown hackers made overseas calls and cleaned my credit. My solution was not to add any more credits and stop using Skype. My recommendation to the disappointed members residing in the U.S. : Join "Google Voice", a superior product with responsive support that takes the Voip to another level (you can use your computer or your cell phone to make calls) at rates lower than Skype. For those overseas Ssubscribers/ members, one has to hope there will soon be soon an alternative to the unsafe and vulnerable Skype product. Consider my suggestions as an open "PM" (private message) to all those who have been harmed by Skype's conceited indifference.

I have to agree with joshbignose! I tried for hours to find a way to contact skype to notify them that my account had been hijacked. I couldn't fill in a report as I couldn't login. I couldn't post on the forums as I couldn't login and I couldn't PM a moderator as I couldn't login. No phone numbers or clear line of support.
I searched everywhere for somewhere or someone to report this problem too. Eventually I realised I had to create another account and now I am at the mercy of reporting it via PM to a moderator. After 36 hours the message has still not been read and I suspect most of my skype credit will have disappeared by the time this whole problem has been sorted out.
I'm a novice and I am freaked out that someone has managed to hijack my account but to spend hours trying to report it and getting nowhere is alarming.
I'm grateful that the moderators are offering to contact skype on our behalf but surely there has to be a better method.

Mr Moderator ,
We are a group of commodities brokers ... working out of skype identity : smartcommoditiesgroup , where we were also using skype credit facility out of our accounts in Miami , FL . All of a sudden , we were booted off skype with the message "you just changed your password . please log in again with the new password ... this is to prevent abuse , etc. , etc ."
Trying to login was futile , any attempts to change the passwords was met by same message over & over again "An unknown error has occured . Please try again later".
We changed to another skype ID - smartgroups . Yet , yesterday at about 14:00 Indian time , the same incident was repeated and we have lost control over this new ID as well .
This is resulting in monumental loss of credibility with our clients and loss of contacts as well .
WE NEED YOUR IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO RESTORE OUR ORIGINAL ID - smartcommoditiesgroup A.S.A.P.
