Full Version: Odd sound problem - voices are very low volume

A week ago callers' voice volume dropped very low - almost impossible to hear on my computer speakers.

All alert noises, and all other apps using volume were unchanged. And, if I use headphones, the voice volume is perfectly normal.

However, the problem persists: with my laptop's built-in speakers, caller voice volume is very low.

Skype prefs in Mac OS X do not allow you to change the volume of callers' voices or Skype alerts ... it's all handled by the main system volume.

There must be some hidden preference that somehow got tripped, and now I can't hear people unless I put my headphones on.

Any ideas? Suggestions? Fixes?

FYI, latest Skype, latest Mac OS X, MacBook Pro 13", was working perfectly for months before.

Hi,

Did you try to increase the volume's level from call window (at bottom) ?

Hi,

Didn't seem to be that ... I installed the latest beta and everything is now fine ...

Thanks.
