According to the MIDSkype site, https://developer.skype.com/MidSkype , the current release was done in January of this year. The linux client hasn't seen an update in over 12 months.

Is it really necessary to have two teams working on two different Skype client, which would both achieve the same goal? I personally use MIDSkype for both my desktop linux machine and my eeePC 900.

I think SkypeMID should be the default for linux because its interface is much closer to the win32 Skype 4.x versions. Just fix file transfers etc.
