I had this exact same problem. After some troubleshooting I figured out that the default mic setting on Mint might not be correct for some sound cards. On my Dell Mini9 I had to change it from "mic" to "front mic" to get it to work. To do this, click the volume control icon in the far right of the desktop bar, then "Volume Control..." On the next screen click the "options" tab, then select "front mic" as the input sources. If you want to see if it worked, open up pulse audio manager and pull up the recording volume meter, you should see the bars jump. This worked for me, maybe will work for you too?

Good luck!

Mezozam if you want help it it important to let us know what sound setup you have.
for instance are you using a USB mic or webcam/mic or a traditional 3.5mm jack plug type?
Whatever the answer you need to look into skype options under the little blue S at the bottom left corner, and then select sound devices. You will probably see a long list of options under Sound In. You can us the one that seem the most sensible or just go through the options one after the other and then do a skype test call for each (if it only the mic that is not working it should not be too much bother)

In my Dell inspiron 1720 don't show me the option "front mic" because only appears "mic"

I don't know what happens sadsmile.png
