I did the same observation, not that 1.2.0.17 seems to be much better though...

I guess the update wasn't important enough to be pushed out.

it has been already out since doublehp posted this topic.

I have 1.2.0.17 already...

So do I and doublehp, maybe you didn't understand what doublehp was saying.
The "problem" was that if you had 1.2.0.11 installed and in the menus (of Skype) asked skype to go and check for an update, it reported "You already have the latest Skype version installed".

However, they've change that by now.

Same thing with 1.2.0.18 (released yesterday)-
doublehp_
seems to be a 0.11 bug only, since my actual
0.17
says me:

The latest Skype version is 1.2.0.18, you can download it from here.

No it is not.
It has nothing to do with what client version you are using. When the client check for updates, it requests a file that contains the version number. The "bug" is that that particular file is usually updated a couple of days after the actual release (which is why you can't see the "problem" now, several days later). Until they update it, the file says "You already have the latest Skype version installed".

I would name it load balancing, not a bug. ;-)

Does load balancing prevent synchronisation ?

if all load balancing systems induce a delay of 'several days' between updates, I would seriously start searching alternatives.

I personally rather think the delay may be whished by Skype admins ... but cant figure any reason.

->

The latest Skype version is 1.2.0.17, you can download it from here.

->

Version: 1.2.0.18. Release date: October 25, 2005

can a server have sync problems 16 days after release ?

note that the URL to check version can be altered manually; feel free to change 15 by any thing else.

Still both 17 and 18 and 19 and 333 report 'latest'.

I dont complain saying 'now' / 'today' that 18 is latest ...

point is that I complain web sites claims 17 to be up to date when 18 has been releast since over 2 weeks.
