Can anybody help me?

I have the latest Skype ( BETA)software. I cannot for the love of me record a personalised answermachine message.

I use a cordeless skype phone which works fine for incoming and outgoing calls, and the default voicemail works fine, but it doesn't pick up my attempts to record my message.

Any advice would be gratefully received.

So you can not leave voicemails from 4.1 client to your cordless phone?

drivers for your phone will likely need to be upgraded for Skype version 4.x, so you should check website of phone vendor for an update if you haven't done so already

Thanks i'll try looking at the phone i use.

tested speaker on phone all OK. But nothing from the microphone when I test that. ( the bars on the tester stay flat ) But I can make calls, so clearly my voice is going down the line. Tried recording a message again, but nothing.

Although Skype made a few ( fruitless) suggestions, they now appear to be ignoring me.

The ability to personalise the voicemail is crucial to me. Given i have only had skype for a few months all the software etc is bang up to date. Am i the only one to have this problem? i am desperate for help, given skype seem very unhelpful

is it a 'regular' cordless phone that is connected to Skype via a third-party, USB-to-RJ11 adapter, or is it a complete cordless system designed to work with Skype?

I didn't notice anywhere where you confirmed that you checked for updated drivers
