SO here's the scoop. I have OS X 10.5.7 and i just downloaded skype 2.7 for mac's. I am trying to video chat with a friend, and i can see them but they cannot see me. I am trying to use my built in camera that works fine when video chating from iChat. Can anyone resolve my issue? In the video options menu, i have selected Enable Skype Video, but i have no camera selected because it will not allow me to select anything.

Macs can only tolerate one application at a time accessing the video camera. If you're running another video-enabled programme at the same time, Skype won't find the camera. Be sure you're not running something else while you're trying to make a Skype video call. Hope that helps...

This happen to me, using iChat and Skype. Make sure, you Quit iChat, then open Skype, that should correct the problem.

I have a similar issue: While Skyping from my MacBook to an iMac, I can see them but they can't see me. Which-ever of us initiates the Skype contact, I can see them and all they see is a black screen from my camera. Can this be overcome? Thanks

I'm having exactly the same problem.
Running leopard 10.5 and skype 2.7

I can see my contact but they can't see me, even though the cam etc is working fine when i check it in the preferences and all the options are set to accept everything.
I have no other applications open at all, so nothing could be stealing the video.

I also can't seem to find a 'video call' button anywhere on skype, even though i've checked i have the latest version.

Any ideas? Really need this to work and i'm ditching skype if it's not going to handle video properly.

Similar problem. Others can't see me when they hit the video button. I have tried going into the Skype > preferences > video. It says there is no camera connected, gives no option of selecting the camera that is in fact connected. Other programs (WebCam Monitor) recognize it fine. Also, Skype is able to access the audio from the USB cam. No idea. I have read the FAQ, I have all the drivers, etc. So, am I to assume my camera is simply not supported?

I am having the same problem. It looks like a lot of people are. Did anyone find a sollution? I have the whole "No video camera connected" message under video preferences, and I don't have any camera options either. So I guess specifically to those people who had the same issues, did you ever resolve them?
