Skype 1.2.0.11 for Linux, binary from Skype dot com on Debian-Sid
About 1h after connecting, I receive a message in the skype status bar:
- 1 new event
- (Yellow 'A' with red arrow) chat allert
after searching 20mn, I cant find any hidden window, history of chats do not report any incoming line/message, and most friends are not out of bed yet.
What could produce such an alert ?
double click on the 'A' does not open any thing as it does for VoiceMail alerts.

Chat Alerts signals you to see who just wanted to chat with you. That's all.

no: I posted this thread especially because skype ONLY tells me that some one want to chat with me, but NOT WHO.

maybe this shot can explain you better than my words ?
and yes, it happens that under this notice I can see a nick name, and when so, I can click on it, and chat with my friend.
But on several computers, it happens that some times i cant see any nick around.
