I automatically updated my Skype balance last week, and ever since then I've been unable to access my Skype account. I keep getting the message that my password isn't recognised. Whenever I try to use the 'forgotten your password' link, my email address is recognised, but the email link is for an old Skype account that I haven't used for years.
I still have the welcome email for my lost account, so I know that my email address is correct. I've put in two support requests so far, but I still haven't heard anything. Man, this is annoying me! I use Skype for my business, and it's already causing me problems.
Any advice as to how I can get my account back? BTW, I've setup a new account to be able to access this forum, but I've lost my contact list, so I need the other account back.

I'm having the same problem. Recently, I tried logging in with my skype accoun but with no luck, i still can't access it. I've been using skype since 2005. I tried to retrieve my password thru their website but still no luck. It says that my email address is not registered. WTF! I still have their Welcome message on my email so why can't I log-in. Someone is playing with skype account or their system is ramdomly deleting accounts on their database.
right now i'm using my wife's skype account.

It's so annoying - especially as Skype took €10 from me to automatically top-up my balance. But ever since then I couldn't access my account, so not only was I inconvenienced, but someone's nicked my money! Paypal have also refused to reimburse me, but also Skype are playing dumb, and have been no help whatsoever.
I had an old account, which I hadn't used for years, and this was the one Skype pointed me to when I reported the issue.
I totally blame Skype for this, they've obviously got a security issue, they offer no actual support to loyal customers (I set up the account 3 years ago and use it almost every day), and when they do respond, their response is so impersonal that it's obviously done by a machine.
Sort it out, guys! If I treated my customers like you do, I'd be out of business.

TheUberOverlord, as i can see, you're in the head, of at least this forum. can you tell the developers plz to correct one thingy - i can connect to my account from 2 different computers simultaneously! i don't want, because i didn't exit from one computer that i gave up. so, plz, tell them to fix this asap, plz!!!

being able to sign in from multiple computers is a feature that I don't think will be removed, but if you are concerned about being signed in somewhere where you shouldn't be, simply change your password using another computer and the other instance will be signed out

My wife is having the same difficulty, suddenly she is unable to log into her account despite having used it daily for a couple of years. There's been no change to her username or password but Skype will not recognise either and when she tries to retrieve her password Skype reports that her email address is not listed. As with the others above she has a considerable amount of credit paid for.
TheUberOverlord you seem to imply that you have an answer, can I PM you?

i paid my money 3 weeks ago and i still cannot use Skype.You acknowledge that you received the money why is my account still telling me i need to bu shype credit.This is very annoying.

for the past 4 days I couldn't login to my skype old account and when I tried to change my password or re-set it at least , I received the skype email with the token but unfortunetly I got unknown error every time I try
please, I need urgently to log into my account
