I'm announcing a sign-up to Skype Lite for BlackBerry smartphones Closed Beta testing.

We will choose from people who have signed up a bunch of people who will became a closed beta testers for Skype Lite for BlackBerry smartphones.

We would like to have people with above average computer experience, who know what closed beta means and who are not afraid of possible bugs in the closed beta version of the application.

Everyone accepted to the Closed Beta testing will have to sign Non-Disclosure agreement with Skype.

Sign-up has been closed, due to extensive amount of sign-ups.

I used Skype on my old HTC, and I've really missed since I've had my BlackBerry Curve, so this development is most welcome!

Finally, this is really long overdue! I am using BB 8320 and can't wait to test it..

I have closed the sign up as of now.

We have got extensive amount of sign up's already.

I will process the data soon and get in contact with people whom we will choose to be the initial participants.

We may choose later to add additional persons if some people are not participating actively.

excellent news, because it was time that the great skype service is available for blackberry users. I think it will be a success worldwide. I hope to be one of the lucky ones to test it in from Ecuador.

I know you have closed the Beta .. If you are interested, I'd be happy to test. Have worked on quite a few BB's from the 6xxx days. I'm a BES admin and use 2 Blackberry devices 8900 and 8800 i hope to try and test skype on blackberry soon and i can test on other blackberry devices like 8100, 8310, 8220 on BES or BIS :-)

All these millions of dollars that's skype make everyday, they can't afford paying for somone to develop a skype client for bb 9000? And what after all the waiting we end up with app that can only be used for chat? And dial out using local numbers instead of using wifi or data, isn't skype suppozed to be a voip app? So what you realising is chat app which is uselessss, that other peoples realesed ages ago and you guys just started to release Beta and for few peoples to test it.. I believe blackberry should be the first handset to release skype client for it cause that's the only handset to be used for business . Wouldn't be nice to have a landline number running on the BB? Why for nokia u skype come prereleased?

Please, do not forget to support WI-FI connections, I mean this because there are a lot of main stream programs for blackberry that don't support and it is awful. Like GMaps, GMail, Viigo..... and it is so easy to implement.
