Hi Skype Users!
I just want to say that all is well with the 1.2.0.11 release of Skype on Linux!
I think that Skype remains a real service to the World!
This is the first version that I've got to work on Linux since the 1.0.0.7 release.
My platform:
Ubuntu linux (Hoary),
AMD64,
Asus A8V motherboard with on-board sound.
All my past problems have been resovled using the staticQT-1.2.0.11 version!
These problems were fixed:
- impossible to install pervious versions due to dbus errors, this version installed ok,
- loss of SkypeOut contact names, I gave up and re-entered the contacts,
- Font sizes: using the program 'qtconfig' I was able to configure the look and feel of the Skype GUI with no problem!
So all is well in Skype for Linux config land.
Cheers,
GF.
