Full Version: Does Skype 4.0 have Extras Manager

I recently downloaded skype 4.0. Under "Tools", the "Extras" option is grayed out. The Skype help pages says:
"Please re-install Skype, and click on the Options button on the first screen. Ensure the checkbox is selected for Install Skype Extras Manager.

So I re-installed skype, clicked on the options box on the first screen, and there is no option there concerning the skype extras manager. The only options there are:
- Launch Skype after Installation
- Install skype plug in for firefox
- Install skype add-in for Explorer

That's it, nothing about the extras manager.

So, does anyone know how to install the Extras manager for Skype 4.0?
Incidentally, I need this because I like to use the Pamfax extra, but don't that detail detract from the main question of how to get the Extra's manager in Skype 4.0.

Sincere thanks to anyone who can help.

Haven't tried yet, but there seem to be workarounds.

Thanks,

The workaround described there works well.

We hope to fix it soon.

Re-Install Skype from Here: http://www.skype.com/intl/en/download/

When you see the "Options" button displayed during the install process, click it, and make sure the "Install Extras Manager" check box is checked, continue the intsalltion. The Extras Manager will now be installed.

I ended up saving (back up to file) my contacts and then from my PC Windows control panel uninstalled Skype program from my PC completely.
Then I installed the 4.0.0.226 new version and my Extras link showed in the "Tools" menu and now works fine. I did all this before finding this forum message.
I use Skype Launcher and just had to delete the usual Skype desktop icon when I installed the new Skype version to get Extras to work again.
P.S. I have been using Subscription Monitor For Skype for about a week now with my new Unlimited World suscription and the SMFS is a brilliant most useful addon. Thanks.
