Full Version: Video Call drops after 10 seconds when Show My Video is enabled
Skype Community > English > Linux > Video

I am using Fedora 10 on an Asus EEE PC 900A.
I have installed Skype 2.0.0.72.
I am in Western Australia.

I can successfully skype voice call my girlfriend in Dubai with and without her video enabled. But as soon as I enable MY video the call drops.

I can successfully video call my other local friends in Australia and they can see my webcam no problems.

In the skype video options the webcam test works.

I can successfully video call my girlfriend in Dubai using a windows machine with Skype for windows, and so can she with her family also using windows machines..

So the only problem I am having is Sending my Video using Skype for Linux on Fedora 10 to my girlfriend in Dubai.

WIERD!

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have the exact same issue (Ubuntu 8.04 amd64, Skype 2.0.0.72). I can have a 2-way video chat with some contacts. When connected to one particular contact, though, Skype crashes once I press "Start My Video". The audio works fine and I can receive video fine with that contact; only when I try to start my video.

It is not location specific -- I can do 2-way video chat with another contact in the same city just fine.
