I'm running Skype 2.0.0.72 on Linux. I sometimes have trouble with Scim and Japanese input with Skype (which should be another bug report really). As the input stopped working, I decided to shut Skype down and restart it. I must have clicked Sign out instead of Quit, since I was thrown back to the login view.
Now to the scary part. As I restarted Skype, my Firefox (which I run from my home directory) started to act funny. As if the program files were gone, because it couldn't open any new windows. And as a matter of fact, the firefox program files were gone, along with a bunch of other programs I had installed in my home directory. Since the only directory left was an empty one called firefox, I first blamed the nightly build updater.
But then I noticed something really strange. In the root of my home directory, there is a new directory called My Skype Content, to which Skype I presume had moved some arbitrary directories from my home directory. As I recall, I never asked for this and I have never seen this directory before. Could anyone please explain why Skype did this to me?
