Full Version: Skype Problem: Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused

Hi,

I am a kind of newbie in this linux stuff and I have installed Suse 9.2 and the skype-1.1.0.13-suse.i586.rpm. Every thing went ok when installing but when I call skype i get:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

any sugestion?

Are you trying to run it as root? If so, try reopening the terminal and running it as the user your logged in as. Or open the run command box (should be im the menu if your using kde) and run skype

it was that easy! I had to call it from the "start applications" menu. The program was well installed but I was not being able to call it from the console.
