So i have windows 7 build 7000.

Skype will recognize "Microphone/Line In" but not my "Microhphone array" which i have set as default under controlpanel-> sounds->recording.

What can i do about this? i need to use "microphone array" as input, but it wont show up in skype preferences.

I have the same problem. Haven't found a fix yet except to use skype on a different machine.

Same problem here. AFAIK, windows 7 default sound driver doesn't manage microphones very well.

In my asus laptop (realtek sound) the sound quality was extremely por and low. As soon as I installed realtek drivers the problem got fixed.

I also have a Dell Studio XPS that uses IDT High definition Audio codec. I have tried both microsoft and IDT drivers for vista (install in compatibility vista mode). As soon as I install IDT drivers, windows recording devices manager and skype detect Microhone / line in and Michorphone array. The windows recording devices manager detects incoming sound from both but skype only works with external micro. WTF???

My mic type is "Microphone array" and skype show it in preferences, but it no work with skype 4.0 with Windows 7 RC.
The mic work well in other applications.
