Hi,

I am testing skype. Im also testing Linux. So im a double newbie here...

Skype seems to work, except for the mic.

See, I have a soundcard and a USB microphone, but I do not have a "analog" microphone for the soundcard.

Now I can select dev/dsp1 in skype settings, but that is only mic, no sound. and if I select dev/dsp, skype does not read the dev/dsp1 mic sadsmile.png

Now what is a newbie to do ?

For a noobie who does not want to learn to quickly, by an analog mic for the soundcard...

For a noobie ready to learn, take a look at the ALSA FAQ here on the forum, and try out with asymetric ALSA "card".
For this you need to use a sound-daemon as Skype can't use that device natively, no can the kernel OSS-emulation driver be used for this!
