I want Linux version in Latvian which does not come with install although the file is available for download. Any ideas how to do this? My friend says that one needs to know how to pack special languages files for Linux.

If you can download such a file, then you will need to replace the file of another language (and ignore non-matching language-name/content) as Skype for Linux does not allow yet to add/remove/edit language files.

They want to provide a language-editor as the one in Windows version, but would be much easier to just provide the translation-source file so anyone could create his .qm files...
And then Skype should automatically detect the available files in SKYPE_RESOURCE_PATH/lang/ to offer just existing languages in the languages menu...
