Full Version: How bad Skype`s Customer Services is
Skype Community > English > General discussion > Skype for Business
www.tranchedevie.co.uk
I have been using a skype since it was launched. All I can say is I never ever get a reply when I send en email to skype`s customer services.

I have bought a skype in number for the account trimway.limited then asked for a refund a couple of times because we did not use ...I think that was 2 or 3 years ago......there was no reply..

I am having problem with my business account right now and sent 6 emails since it was occurred there has been a week still no reply. My business account was blocked and I am asking them doh.png how to unblock it. There is only one option to reach skype`s customer services which is sending an email...

There is no telephone support...

I am just asking is there anyone there got the help from skype`s customer service in real...or skype is pretending they have customer service lipssealed.png
Tom Wnukowski
I am wondering this myself. I've been blocked out of the Control Panel for over a month! Now all of my employees are out of credits and can't make calls.

I'm going to have them leave the company and manage their own credits.

Why have this Business Control Panel if you will not properly support it? You cannot expect to support a world wide product through unresponsive email support.

Good luck, I hope someone can resolve your issue!

It seems that Skype is not giving a reliable service for business at all.

just a quick update regarding to skype`s customer service response time.

I have received en email yesterday after I have posted the above topic to the forum website. if you want to have a reply you should post your inquiry to forum page while you you send your email to Skype customer service.

I really do not understand how come they do not give a telephone support as a telecommunication service provider. At least they should deal with business accounts` problems on the phone...

Skype`s customer service is seemed to me really hopeless. My business account is still blocked and waiting for support. no.png

I have already started searching another provider.
oaksys
Get real.

In essence you get the level of support that reflects the amount that you pay for Skype. Not a lot.

It is not in Skype's business model to fund a telephone help desk on the fees charged. Ebay overpaid for Skype and needs to claw back as much as possible to pay for that investment. It would be a brave Skype Manager who went to the Skype executive and said "Let's create a telephone call centre big enough to service 14,000,000 users."

Just having email based support means that the work load can be spread even if they can answer a proportion of the queries.
Alex8888
That is true, is a great cheap service, but is prepaid, and your money can get locked there with no service at all.

Once your money is locked there, and there is a problem, skype customer service is completely irresponsive. Sending repeatedly you only standard emails blaiming your computers settings even when you tell them you are able to use a different account on the same computer.

The fact is one can not trust prepaid service when treated with disregard.

So the answer is to keep as little money there as possible, which makes the whole experience much more unpleasant.

In the other hand, I would never trusted this guys if the service was not prepaid. One can imagine the huge bills...
Pissed off Skype user
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. When we've had problems with Skype, it's been the devil's own job trying to get any kind of response from them. Their customer service is shockingly bad.

I've now decided that Skype simply is not suitable for business use. We'll be looking elsewhere to make our phone calls in my business from now on.

Shame really, because it was a great idea on paper.

just another update...I have been contacted by Skype Customer Service and they unblocked my acccount but I have not changed my mind about customer service quality which is really poor.

I am having the same kind of problem and I am trying to find out another provider.
I was thinking to change for Gizmo but they don't have a large base for callIn/callOut.

I think Skype needs a confront with another stronger provider.

I am using Skype for about two years. A few months ago I subscribed to unlimited country and, in addition, I authorized Skype to withdraw from PayPal 10 euro as needed. On Dec. 24, they withdraw 10 Euro, plus 10 USD, plus 10 USD, but added zero to my Skype account. So, I disabled the auto charge and reported unauthorized withdrawal to both Skype Billing (by email) and PayPal (by phone). In response, Skype blocked my account (even if the remaining balance was not zero and the subscription was prepaid till February)... and that is all. No email response from Skype so far (except an auto reply about receiving my email). PayPal will finish investigation within 10 days. So, on Dec. 24 I got two cases of unauthorized withdrawals from PayPal, plus authorized withdrawal from PayPal without adding the funds to Skype account, plus blocking a prepaid subscription account, plus no response to email. I think it is a lot... I completely disagree with opinion that the large number of customers is a reasonable excuse for absence of customer service. You cannot be sitting on two chairs: either you provide online service along with a customer service or you provide no online service. The fact that you are successful does not allow you to spit in customers' faces.

1. This is a known issue - the result of a software malfunction
2. Skype blocked your account for your preotection.
The instances of several rapid PPal withdrawls has triggered the automatic blocking controls.
Account blocking has nothing to do with the amount of Skype credit you have.
3. First of all it is a technical malfunction we're talking about - not deliberate action.

I realize that this is not a deliberate action. But this is not an excuse not to reply to customer's email report. Thank you for advice. I will also submit the report via online form.

This is update of my situation. I have no words to express my anger.

1. No Skype reply to email report since Dec. 24 (that is for 2 weeks).

2. In response to my report submitted online on Dec. 27, Skype informed me that all amounts are already charged back to PayPal. However, nothing was charged back to PayPal.

3. Two days ago, a part of the amount (withdraw from PayPal without my authorization) appeared as a Skype credit?!

4. Skype continue to withdraw money from PayPal by auto charge -- without my authorization... after I disable auto charge! This is probably the worst thing...

If this is a software problem, why this error results in unauthorized withdrawals from customer's PayPal account instead of unauthorized deposits to these accounts? What this people in customer service doing?!
beio2008
Clarification...

Skype continue to withdraw funds from my PayPal account without my authorization and... even without adding these funds to my Skype account.

I now have some doubts that this represents a software error. If this happens not only with me then this may be a software deliberate setting.

After reading posts to this forum I am really dismayed and hopeless about Skype ever going to get my money back.
As a last resort I am appealing to your advocacy service and the leverage you may have with the Skype fellows. Follows the latest message they did not reply:

"To: Joana or Billing supervisor

I have not received response to the attached message.

I need a refund of the money I posted by mistake in the wrong place. You
have several options:

1. reverse the allocation from user jairoserna (myself) to the control
panel.

2. Apply the credit to the 1 year renewal of telephone number 954-603 7867
(assigned to me in the business panel)

4. Reverse the assignement of the telephone number (954-603 7867) from the
business panel back to my personal account (jairoserna) thus I can use the
credit to renew the telephone number.

5 Refund the money ($60) to my bank account, either the personal or the
busniess bank account.

Thank you for your help.

If you paid a young child to build a brick wall your would no doubt be disappointed with the result unless the child happened to be a builder prodigy.

That would be your fault for making a poor selection of a tradesman to do the work. If you asked the child if they could lay bricks for money he/she would probably say yes.

It is the same situation with Skype for business. Check properly before using them.

The slight difference with a child is that you could ask its parent to spank its bottom for telling lies.

hi
the problem with customer support is that you get someone different every time so the problem doesn´t get sorted. i have been trying to put credit on my skype for 3 weeks - ready for xmas calls. they have debited my account but the money has got lost in the system!!! they don´t listen i wish i could find someone else to use as i live in spain and have to ring the uk to speak to the family. do u know of any other ones ´cos i´m fed up with skype
Monestri
Simple answer - cut your losses - don't use skype.

I agree, I sent in like 50 support e-mails, never got a reply, well I got one reply but it didn't even answer my question >.>
beio2008
Updating this case...

1. The issues are finally resolved (a few days ago).

2. All the amount withdrawn without authorization were refunded. Auto-charge fixed. Skype records start to show correct transactions.

3. It took about 3 weeks and an exchange of a few emails to resolve this issue.

4. Initially I sent an email to Skype. There was no reply. Thanks Norman Musgrave who gave me an advice to send a report via Skype online form. A customer service representative almost immediately replied to my report submitted via Skype's online form. All subsequent communications were by email. Each time, I was waiting two-three days for the customer service to reply to my email.

5. A customer service representative explained to me that the unauthorized withdrawals, failure to admit the unauthorized withdrawals, and inability to process refund orders were results of Skype's temporary software malfunction. The representative also explained to me that the delay to reply to my emails was a result of a large volume of emails received.

6. It looks as the customer service representative was willing to resolve the issue, but was unable because of software malfunction.

7. My conclusion: it is possible to resolve the issues, but you should submit the report by Skype's online form (not by email) and be ready for a multiple communications with customer service representative before the issues can be resolved.

Hi everyone. I've been looking to use Skype as an option for business PBX using onstate or prettymay but after browsing through the forums (before I even test the call quality) I'm very put off. It seems the only people to have a positive comment regarding using skype for business is a moderator.

Is business Skype just a joke? Does anyone actually use this thing for business. I'm in Australia so I have no idea if it will actually work well but I'm getting the vibe I should even try.

You may not be able to reply to this but if Skype is a no go then what is? VOIP has been around for so long surly someone has a good business model that doesn't cost the earth.
carlab78
Don't touch skype for business - it is ridiculous. I cannot understand how they can block a paying business customer, and then not give any reason or response. Skype is going down-hill fast, and I advise going with someone a little more competent.
Stich
Thanks for that - I have since gone to working on a TRIXBOX setup. Just setup my own one for now with trixbox CE and seems to be working well.

Goodbye Skype

That's me Norman - much more than 4 days, actually 3+ weeks now. latest is skype said a week ago if I would change my password and email to the CSrep they would unblock my account. I have sent several emails and have heard nothing. Account is still blocked. Please help. username is goodwood747 It would take too long and raise my blood pressure to give you the whole slow story, but I can if needed.

I love the free calls to grandma for our kids, but I cannot continue to rely on Skype for my business needs as the Customer Service is the worst I've ever experienced anywhere. I'd even be willing to pay for CS a reasonable per minute charge if I could actually talk to a live person who could help.

Don't expect any investment from Ebay to improve the Customer Support of Skype. There are recent reports in the media that Ebay are looking to sell off Skype, probably by IPO. Until that happens they will only do what they have to to keep the patient breathing.

I still can't believe Skype is able to operate in the U.S.. I have spent hours trying to contact them-and there is simply no way to do it. I can log in, but when I try and fill in the text on the form to contact them-the ONLY way I've seen-it won't accept the text.

I foolishly signed up to have my credit recharged. When I dial the code they gave me to make a call-it tells me account has expired. Now I get notice saying it will all expire in 30 days, and I will bet it will charge me another 10 to 're-charge' it. I will have to pay my bank $25 to stop payment.

Hi:
I think the customer service may have improved from nonexistent to just intolerably bad. I get email responses in about 24 hours which is horrible for what could be answered with a 30 sec phone call. They are stepping over dollars to pick up dimes. To compound the problem I am getting responses from non-native english speakers who not only can't answer the questions I ask in an intelligible manner but don't really even understand the question. It usually takes at least three times (three days) to make a dent. The amount of time spent (man hours) on their party could be cut drastically if they could just answer a FREE phone call. Alternatively a live-text help service could be implemented. All very frustrating.... If they wanted to charge me another buck or two a month for live support I would gladly pay it. Do you suppose they read these things?

I am jealous, as I suspect most are, that you can even get a response from Skype. I have an Online Number that's paid for (by me) but I suspect not being paid for (by Skype). It won't connect, and there's seemingly no recourse. I sent a second request and noted it would be my last, to Skype; my next request will be made thru the attorneys general of Texas and California. I'm in Texas; eBay is in California. I believe Skype's non-performance is either willful or negligent enough to constitute consumer fraud.

Meanwhile, I suspect this forum is about as useful as Skype's so-called "support" and "customer service." It's nicely buried withing the Skype Web site, which is not monitored by Skype personnel, if in fact Skype has any personnel. Heck, even the moderator, who seemed to hide behind a shield of third-party status, is now gonzo.

Possibly better is www.getsatisfaction.com/skype. There's a Skype employee assigned to it, Peter, probably because it's not contained as this forum is. Peter seems to hhave some canned responses that are virtually worthless. But if more people take their gripes beyond this little containment pond, eBay/PayPal/Skype might actually have to put out the fire.

FWIW,

Jim / yellotools.usa

True! But assuming out of 14'000'000 half would only charge 1$ would give a nice sum to start building a Customer Service for Business.
