Hi,

I am not able to start the latest Skype version at FC2. I've all the latest
updates for FC2 installed and am running kernel version 2.6.10-1.771_FC2.

When i try to run the program, it wont start and the only error message is "Segmentation Fault" the same happens with the FC3 RPM as well as with both of the tar binaries. Below is the GDB debugging data.

Anyone else run into the same problem?

(gdb) run

..Some additional information about the installation:
I've following version of the different packages installed.

libstdc++34-3.4.0-1
qt-3.3.3-0.1
glibc-2.3.3-27.1

The skype did initally work before i did a yum update of the system, after which the segmentation fault problem appeared.

I've tried to reinstall the skype and also the libstdc++34 package, but nothing seems to work..

Any hints, help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem.
Only that I DIDN'T upgrade system. Skype was warking, and now its
not. I get segmentation fault, and thats all.

Any ideas?

Same problem here on FC2, I also get a segmentation fault with the latest version of skype.

I am also in the same situation

I'm running Fedora Core 2, kernel 2.6.10-1.771_FC2
libstdc++34-3.4.0-1
qt-3.3.3-0.1
glibc-2.3.3-27.1

I also recently upgraded my system, but skype still kept working for a while. Now it just says: "Segmentation fault" and closes.

I upgraded skype to the latest version skype-1.1.0.3-fc3.i586.rpm and, after that didn't work, I also tried kype_staticQT-1.1.0.3.tar.bz2 with the same result.

Any idea on how to get around this?
I'd be willing to perform any test or provide any information to help solve this problem

Did a few more tests:

skype-1.1.0.3.tar.bz2 (dynamic binary) didn't work either
I booted the same machine (exact same configuration) with an old kenel kernel-2.6.8-1.521 and it seemed to work. So, I guess the trouble is with the kernel (??). It was running on the new 2.6.10 kernel for some time though.

Does anyone have any tip on how to troubleshoot this?

Same here, worked first time then fails...

libstdc++34-3.4.0-1
