I do run a joomla installation with community builder.
The Firefox extension recognize phone numbers in the profil well, but not the skype Numbers/Names.
I gave the following name to the field: Name: cb_phoneskype Title: Telefon Skype.

Has some body experience with that?

Could you please elaborate on what you are trying to accomplish?

see image below. the skype name is not recognized as a Skype Name/Number. Or does the extension only recognize ordinary phone Numbers?

The Skype web add-ons only recognize phone numbers. If you want your Skype-name to look good I would suggest using this wizard:
http://www.skype.com/intl/en/share/buttons/
