Skype is great for transferring large files but I want to transfer a FOLDER not a file. I can't find that in the FAQ's or anywhere else. Does anyone know how to do that?

Thanks a million!

Many people do NOT know that this can be done for FREE on Microsoft based operating systems, some assume you need to purchase file compression software, which is not true.

"Right Click" on the folder in question ("This is assuming you are using Windows as your operating system") and click/select "Send To" then choose "Compressed (zipped) folder". This will ZIP the folder in question and use the folder name and a .zip file extenstionsuch as "MyFolder.zip".

You can now send "MyFolder.zip" as a file instead of the contents of "MyFolder" one file at a time.

The person on the receiving side, again, this is assuming they are also using Windows as an operating system, once downloaded, they can right Click on "MyFolder.zip" and then choose "Extract All" which will allow them to uncompress "MyFolder.zip" back into "MyFolder" with all files inside, or the folder name of their choice.

Hi there!
I read your post, i'd like to object to moderator, because that's very bad (i would say - stupid) method, if i need to send whole folder with files (example: folder with 500-1000 pictures).
1st) i need a time to wait, when files will compress in (zip) archive;
2nd) i must send that archive to friend (another contact person);
3rd) archive receiver must wait (AGAIN!!!), when archive will extract the files.

Is it really hard or even impossible to make a function in Skype, such as "Send A Folder"? If it is, very sad! sadsmile.png
