Hi,

there are repositories for Fedora and for Ubuntu, could you please also add a repository for openSUSE? I would like to see in the opensuse-updater or zypper if there are updates of skype.

I am also a 64-bits OS user so it would also be really good to have but a repository would be a great addiction for all the openSUSE community smile.png Let's wait to see if we get any answers.

An openSUSE Skype repository is a great idea.

I've just replaced my pc with a new one, and upgraded from SUSE 10.2 to SUSE 11.0 (Linux 2.6.25.20-0.5-default x86_64). In the process, I've lost my Skype. sadsmile.png I've just downloaded and installed skype-2.1.0.47-suse.i586, but when I try to run it, the sand-glass just churns for a while and then disappears.

If there was a Skype repository, I could add it to my regular update check and get a new 64bit version automatically when it is ready for SUSE smile.png

The problem might not be hard to solve.

When I run skype in a terminal window, it returns the following error:

skype: error while loading shared libraries: libQtDBus.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

But I find the library without problem in usr/lib64, so there is just a reference missing in the program or installation.... at least as far as that error goes.

I think you should try to install the 32-bit version of that lib. The same happened to me, no idea why... Actually I had to install a bunch of 32-bit libs in order to skype work. I hope this helps!

I also would like to see an openSUSE-Repository for Skype, as currently there is no option in SUSE STUDIO. Please add one asap. Isn't Suse just as valuable as Ubuntu and Debian? Novel has made a lot of contributions to the Linux community as a whole.
