This post replaces previous posts regarding payment methods in the Business Control Panel.

Depending on country of residence, you will have access to a variety of different payment methods. This post tries to list the payment methods available in most countries/territories. Available payment methods and limits will also vary depending on your purchase history with Skype.

PayPal - the safe and easy way to pay online. PayPal accepts all major credit cards. Please note that you can only associate one Skype account with one PayPal account. New customers have a purchase limit of €100 per purchase.

Moneybookers
- With Moneybookers, a third party payment partner, you can use your credit card, debit card or bank account to buy Skype services. Purchase limit up to €1000.

Regular Bank transfer - It takes approximately 3 to 7 days to process your bank transfer and credit your Skype account, although sometimes it may take longer. Purchase limit up to €1000.

Major Credit cards - If you cannot see an option to pay with credit card it is probably because you do not have a credit history with Skype. Normally after several purchases the credit card option will become available. In some territories it is possible to confirm your company to get access to this payment method, see below.


Confirm company details to enable more payment options:

If you cannot see an option to pay with credit card it is probably because you do not have a credit history with Skype. Normally after several purchases the credit card option will become available. However, if you are a registered company you can bypass this process by supplying additional information below. This will also enable higher limits if you prefer using PayPal.

1. Choose "Learn how to pay with a credit card..." after clicking on "Add Credit.." from within the Business Control Panel.

2. Complete the required fields in the company confirmation form as accurately as possible.

3. Skype will match your company details against a global database of registered companies.

4. We'll then phone you using the details on our database and confirm your request.

5. Once you have confirmed the request the credit card payment option will be enabled on your control panel and PayPal limits will be increased.

This process can take up to two weeks. In the meantime, please use one of the other available payment options to purchase Skype Credit for your control panel.

Hello and thanks. Good instructions. Anyway it does not say nothing about the currencies. What happens if I have an account configured to pay in US$ and want to buy credit for a member of my control panel and the system only gives me the option of paying in euros? I want to pay in the same currency I have been doing always.

Hello, thank you for your post.

When buying credit for your business control panel, it will use the currency set as default for that control panel. It is possible to change currency here.

If the member that you are allocating credit to is using a different currency, the credit assigned will be converted to that currency.

In your specific case, it seems like your personal account is set to USD, but the control panel is set to use EUR.

Payment options change often depending upon location.
Current option for Brazil include PayPal but see below:
If you wish to purchase Skype products using PayPal you must link your credit card detils with your PP account.
This is a prereqisit.
Your CC details are used for ID purposes and not for payment.

You cannot use a credit card to purchase within the BCP until 3 months have elapsed starting from the date of your initial purchase

Hi!

I wish to know more about the payment options when using the store. Where can I turn?
I live in Sweden and from what I can tell they only list the credit card payment option here. Trouble is, I have VISA Electron and not the regular VISA. It doesn't show Electron specifically but sometimes sites accept it anyway, as long as it says they accept VISA cards in general. But there is no way to know for sure.

Is Electron valid? And if not, how then can I pay?
It'd be sad if I couldn't buy from the store at all.

I suggest one use the payment option which minimise the amount hold on the account.
In case of any problem Skype Customer service is irresponsive, sending you standard emails, blaiming allways your settings, even when you are able to use a different account on the same computer.
The end of the day, if they don't act, your money is locked, and there is nothing you can do.
It is a great service, but whith no shops, and remotely based, one can not trust prepayments after being treated with disregard.

So payment options : as little as possible....., which makes the the whole skypeout experience very upleasant .

How do you change your pay pal account information I have an old one on my account and going to my account does not seem to allow it to be changed.

I had a Skype Pro deal... and it's expired... when I signed up I paid in advance... and so this was not a monthly subscription... when I look at my account I see this Reactive or Switch option... have no idea what Switch means... as far as Reactivate... I have no idea if that's going to set me up with a 3.00 monthly payment... or if it's going to let me pay for a year in advance...

On the one hand, I don't like payments by month... everybody seems to want them... and it would only take one month with a low balance to get hit with excessive bank charges, especially because each ping is run usually at least three times... that's not a good deal...

On the other hand... the account I use for internet transactions is kept low... really low... (try hacking it if you like, you won't make any money...).. so if I'm paying for a year, I need to know before hitting Reactivate, so I can feed the account beforehand...

You guys keep your web site really simple, but sometimes it just doesn't ever get to the point... Honestly, I wish you would get some feedback from me in your next make over, cause I really don't like spending too much time just to look up information so I can make a quick decision...

If this isn't the right place to post this let me know...

I've only waited for three months with no response from support. Sent another one recently. No response to that either. Maybe that's Meg Whitman's fault. I've heard eBay isn't responsive either. I don't use eBay, but I've used Skype. It's not like I need to communicate a lot with the company. Once a year is about all. So maybe the solution is just to sign up for a month, and then cancel it. Then if I ever need it again just do the same thing. What's that song? 'You can't always get what you want'? At least give us the illusion that we have choices we can make. Its not that hard to be flexible in billing plans is it? I went for years without joining gyms and what-not because they expected me to submit to automatic billing. I can go for months without Skype if that's what they what, but they're losing what economist's term as 'price discrimination', and others simply call profit and common sense.

Why can't I make any calls to land lines?
I'm being informed I need skype credits yet I have an unlimited subscription purchased June 12, good until July 12.
I haven't made any phone calls yet today.
What's the deal?

Hmmm.. You should be able to call land lines.. I pulled this off of Skypes site.. "Use it to make great value calls to landlines and cell phones across the world" So that's strange that its not working for you..

"The Business Control Panel uses different vouchers to individual Skype accounts. Depending on the type of voucher you have it will either need to be redeemed through the Business Control Panel or directly on a member’s Skype account."

One thing has always bothered angry.png me about your business interface is that it lacks the ability to accept the payment cards that you purchase over the counter at Walmart stores in the U.S.A. and makes you choose one of the accounts instead of accepting all legitimate Skype vouchers for any denomination bought and paid for, which should be at the discretion of the Business Panel Administrator/s. This would probably encourage greater adoption if we could purchase these cards and use them in your business control panel. It would lead to greater Skype gifting and a policy of no refunds once the funds are placed on the business control panel would benefit you and cause growth by relaxing the restriction on over the counter purchases and maybe placing a max cap of $50 at a time under a "use it or lose it" policy which could apply for those individuals or companies who do not want to deal with paying extra fees on pay pal,credit/debit cards or who have stopped or are trying not to use credit cards as much but manage on a pay as you go basis.
So please tell me and other Skype Users what prompted or necessitated your decision not to allow vouchers that already have been paid for in cash ineligible for use in the business control panel?Or why not have a few business voucher cards available for purchase over the counter at the Walmart Stores???? How can I change my credit card that is on file for a subscription? I just cancelled the card that is on file and when I go into account settings to try to delete it, I'm told that I can't do it without stopping my subscription. I don't want to stop the subscription; I'd like to just change the card.
