I am the developer of a software called
ScreenCamera. With
ScreenCamera you can share your computer screen using Skype. Actually, you can share your PC screen and webcam together at the same time using Skype.
Download, and install ScreenCamera. Then select 'ScreenCamera IM Device' as the video source on Skype. Run ScreenCamera and you will be immediately able to share your computer screen with your business partners and friends using Skype.
You can download ScreenCamera here:

Hi Alex,
I'm very pleased with your software but I have 2 problems:
1. The video from my webcam appears pretty slow with the desktop even with higher frame rates.
2. The resolution of desktop is not good. Example: I must zoom a pdf to 200% or 300% for my viewer to see the text clearly.
Are there any solutions to these problems?
Thank You

Hi Kareem,
(1) Set the frame-rate at 30 fps for the webcam, and decrease the frame-rate for the desktop, start at 1 fps and then increase gradually until you find the desired result. What is most likely to be happening is that both webcam and screen frame-rates are high and that will consume a lot of CPU cycles.
(2) Skype uses a resolution of 320x240 pixels for live video conferencing, and ScreenCamera must therefore fit the entire desktop screen into a 320x240 pixel space. There is a button on ScreenCamera's toolbar to follow the mouse cursor around in a way that you can more easily show in readable details your pdf document without having to zoom in but simply moving the mouse cursor around what you want to show. See attached image.
Thanks for your interest,
Alex

I am very excited to announce that
ScreenCamera has doubled its video resolution from 320x240 to 640x480.
Another good news is that if you connect your webcam through ScreenCamera and your webcam supports 640x480 video resolution then you can have live video conversations at 640x480 even if Skype does not recognize the 640x480 resolution of your camera because ScreenCamera does and you will then use ScreenCamera on Skype and it will do the bridging for you.
So, check it out. I am sure you will like it:

Great Software! It's the only tool I'm aware of that can mix both the Webcam and the desktop at the same time and allow consimization on how they are mixed. You should work with Skype to have this sort of feature intergrated into Skype.
However, I like to suggest three enhancements which would make the program much more useable.
1) The first enhancement would be to let the screen camera interface minimize to the system tray. It currently can only minimize to the task bar. It’s much more user friendly to have the option to let it run in a background mode.
2) The second enhancement would be allow both sources of the desktop and a webcam to be turned off. You currently can pick either or both but not none.
3) The Screen Camera tool activates the webcam even when the webcam source is not selected. For example if only the desktop is activated the screen camera tool still turns on the webcam even though it’s not in use. You might think this is no big deal, but on my web cam an activation light lets you know the camera is on. This gives you the sense that when the light is on someone is watching. However, now if I am using the Screen Camera tool and only streaming my desktop then the light on the webcam is still on. It would be so much nicer to have the Screen Camera tool turn off the webcam when it is not selected. Then the light on the web cam will go off and you won’t have that creepy feeling that someone is watching you when it really is not selected.

Thank you very much.
I would love to be able to integrate ScreenCamera into Skype specially because I think Skype is the most reliable video-conferencing software in the world and I would really like to be associated with such high quality software which is what I try to do on my products as well. I will seek to know how that may come about.
Best,
Alex
