Hi,

I am running skype 2.0.0.72 on Ubuntu 8.04.1. The webcam is working fine for video calls but when I try and put the conversation into full screen, or double size mode. The video image stays at 320x240 and the new window just has a big black border around it.

Can anyone give me any help on what I need to do?

Thanks,

daver

I have similar problem with some of my contacts---I didn't test thoroughly whether it's true for all of them though. I'm using static version of latest Skype on latest Ubuntu.

I found the following notice in Skype release notes:

Non-accelerated X11 output currently doesn't scale video output. This means that in full-screen, the video will be smaller than the available screen size. And similarly, in video preview, you will only see a cropped section of the actual video window.

Hmmmm. One idea I have (assuming you are not in Do Not Disturb at the time), is to go to Options, and Notifications, then choose Call Answered, click Advanced, and in the script field, type:

/usr/bin/xset s reset

Then Skype should deactivate your screensaver when a call is answered. However I'm not 100% sure if the Call Answered event is fired on auto-answer. You could also perhaps add it to Call Ringing In, but I'm not 100% sure if this event is fired on auto-answer either.

Hope this helps,
Andy.
