have seen similar problems listed in different forums in the past with no real solution and I had no answers to my question in the skype for windows forum - please help!
I have a D-link DPH-50U USB phone adaptor which worked fine with my previous WinXP machine, but does not work with my new PC (Vista home prem)as it previously did.
On my XP machine with skype 3.8, if someone called me, both my DPH-50U and my computer speakers would ring. If it was someone on the webcam, I would answer via the computer. If it was a phone call I would answer on the phone attached to the DPH50U. The same was true if I wanted to make calls. I would simply use the DPH-50U, or the webcam and speakers.
However, with vista it appears that only one audio device can be active at once. This is annoying as I don't want to have to change my audio settings every time I want to use a different device. Also, if a call from the webcam is incomming and the settings are set to the DPH-50U, I would have to either use the voip phone whilst on the webcam, or cancel the call change the settings and call back. Both of tose options are a pain.
I have tried different drivers for the DPH-50U (two other comapnies use the same chipset). I have tried installing skype 4 beta. Nothing has helped so far. Does anybody have any suggestions in skype, windows, or any apps that might help.
Thanks in advance!!!
